Since finding Holidays 4 Dogs & Nicci and her family my life has changed. In 30 years of keeping dogs I have never felt comfortable leaving them. I tried kennels once and vowed never to again! Otherwise I have always relied on family and friends and always felt I was taking advantage as they would never accept anything in return. I have been away more in the last 18 months than in the previous 18 years. Our dog Freddy loves going on his holidays to Sally and enjoys the same one on one treatment he gets at home. It's also very reassuring to get messages throughout the stay about how he has settled. We were nervous new dog owners when we first made contact with Holiday4Dogs with our two Springer Spaniel pups who are now 14months old. We new the environment we wanted for Mac & Flynn to holiday in whenever we left them and I can't praise the staff highly enough for persevering with us to find their (and our!) perfect home away from home. Great idea and elegantly executed! The dogs love going to H4D, to spend time with their friends; they even send us texts when we're away! Then they usually sleep/dream for two days when they get home! The socialising has done them the world of good, and the whole thing is peace of mind all round...but don't tell everyone :-) Mr Stewart

My older dog stayed with a Holidays 4 Dogs home carer the last time we went away. Being cared for in someone's home as part of the family, rather than in a kennel block, is so much better for Buddy. The one time I did leave him in kennels he returned to me stressed, anxious and hoarse from barking. When I collected him from his home carer he was happy and relaxed, and had obviously been very well cared for. In fact, I suspect he didn't miss me at all! The service is very well organised, professional and caring. It is great value for money; I paid only £3 more per day than kennels for this service. Well worth knowing my dog is happy and relaxed while I'm away. Ms Walsh

I have an older and sometimes timid small dog She is very much my companion and has always been with me everywhere I go and never been in a kennels. Now I have to make frequent trips to London and I was worried about finding someone to care for her when I am away. I found holidays for dogs on the internet and now she goes to a wonderful home where she is loved and cared for as part of the family. She loves going and gets wildly excited as we arrive ( like a child going to play with friends). As I leave she hardly looks back and takes pride of place on her own special chair. I have no hesitation in recommending Holidays for Dogs not only for the wonderful caring second home they have provided for my dog but for the efficient and professional way in which they manage their business. What can I say, Fozzi our labradoodle( bonkers) is just the happiest boy ever when he goes to stay with our carers from holidays 4 dogs. When we moved from the South of England to Yorkshire I was delighted to find H4D as I had used a similar type of arrangement. I would recommend Holiday for Dogs for anyone who cannot bear the thought of their dog(s) in a Kennel whilst they are away. Claire found us a carer in our area who is perfect for our big dogs and are experienced enough to handle them. Over the last year we have used them many times and they love having them. Our two dogs see their Holidays 4 Dogs residence as their second home. In fact, as soon as we approach the house they have already forgotten us & can't wait to get out. We used this service for our rescue dog who doesn't like kennels. The dog sitter they found us was local and an experienced dog owner. Our dog had such a good time and we had a worry free break. The service they provide is excellent, in fact we like it so much we have booked them 3 times in two months. Their prices compare favourably with kennel prices but your dog gets the care and attention they would at home. Customer service is wonderful, nothing is too much trouble for these lovely ladies. We have been using Holidays 4 Dogs for a year now, and have been very happy with the service. We have used 2 different carers for our dog who are both very trustworthy and genuinely enjoy looking after dogs. This makes us much more relaxed about going away, as our dog gets very stressed when left in kennels, seeing as she hates other dogs! This is the perfect solution for nervous dogs. We are using them again this year because both our dogs were so happy and contented. They fitted in really well with their "temporary home" and were probably looked after better than we do !! After struggling to find a kennel which we felt that our dogs were genuinely cared for, we found the "Holidays 4 Dogs" website which provides home care for your pets. We picked up Benson and Lucy yesterday and could tell by the way they were relaxed and chilled that they had enjoyed their holiday too! Cath and Mike (our dogs' carers) are genuinely lovely people and Benson and Lucy were welcomed into their home as part of the family. We were kept in touch by email and text and pictures from Mike!
