Complete peace of mind for you and your dog

Having the right carer for your dog is a very personal thing. We listen to you and your dog’s needs and ask the right questions to ensure your choice of local carer is just right for your dog. We will check availability for you and ensure your dog’s carer is available when you need them and get you all introduced. Meeting your Holidays4Dogs carer in good time before your dog’s stay makes sure that everyone is perfectly happy.

  • Your dog’s carer is there for your dog only and will not accept other guest dogs while your dog is staying.
  • You dog’s carer will not carry out other pet duties such as dog walking, grooming or making house visits that would take them away from the care of your dog.
  • Our approved carers are at home during the day giving your dog their full attention.
  • Your dog’s carer is fully contactable and will keep in touch with you while you are away giving messages and pictures where possible.
  • There will be no pre-school children or unknown members of the family in the carer’s home.
  • Your dog’s carer loves to walk your dog. All our carers are fit and active and provide a minimum of two good walks per day.
  • Your dog’s carer will have a secure and dog friendly garden to suit your dog and will never leave them unattended in the garden.
  • Your dog’s carer will have direct walking access to the countryside or parks. Only with your permission will car travel be allowed.
  • Your dog’s carer will be mature, responsible and hugely welcoming to both you and your dog.

In fact, our dog carers are very often people just like you! They all love to look after your pet in the best way possible.

  • All of our dog carers are required to meet all our strict criteria and are approved by Holidays4Dogs ready for you to be introduced.
  • If our carer still has a dog of their own, it is character assessed to be fully welcome to your dog.

Dave and Linda

North Yorkshire

Dave and Linda are a welcoming, friendly couple who are both ex-teachers and super experienced dog carers with a lovely clean home and location. The family have a gorgeous Golden Doodle bitch of their own who loves the company of other dogs is good natured and plays well. Walks are abundant and varied to suit conditions and visitors, often in open countryside bridal ways, single track lanes and fields in the area. Dave and Linda welcome most sizes and non-guard breeds of highly sociable dogs into their home (no entire males). Guest dogs are allowed the full run of the house, including sleeping upstairs but not on the furniture, in the main lounge, or on the beds. Provided is a small chill – out area/sleep area in the kitchen if required for added security or feeding with the rest of the house layout offers guest dogs the full run of the house, never being secluded or excluded in any way. The cottage has well enclosed gardens front and back to the property offering supervised freedom of movement between the kitchen and the back garden in the summer months. Regular Whatsapp messages are provided to keep in touch with owners during the stay. Highly recommended dog carers.

Julia

Rotherham area

Julia is a very experienced and highly popular carer with Holidays4Dogs who no longer owns any pets of her own meaning she so is able to commit her time fully to guest dogs. Julia’s home is a former gate house, on one level standing within a 1/4 acre plot. Dogs are allowed free roam in the home so much as they would be allowed in their own environment. The garden is very secure with 6ft panel fencing, and all guest dogs are attended when they are outside as well. The garden backs immediately onto a bridleway and fields, offering an abundance of lovely walks. The property is easy to find being located next to a reasonably busy road 1/2 mile from the local village. Very highly recommended, capable and loving carer offering a wonderful holiday stay. Gill and Russ

East Yorkshire

Gill and Russ are genuine animal lovers and have owned dogs for many years in the past. They have a wealth of doggy experience and since being carers with Holidays4Dogs, Gill has completed a behavioural course entitled ‘Dog Carers Dilemmas; Identifying and Dealing with Problems’ so you can rest assured that guest dogs settle in quickly and enjoy their stay. They live in a beautiful home with a good sized, secure garden. Doggy guests will be sure of lots of fuss, cuddles and attention whilst you are away and Russ and Gill are flexible about sleeping arrangements allowing guest dogs in the bedroom, if required. Gill who works is the main dog walker, available for lengthy walks mornings and evenings. Russ is at home during the day and ready to provide plenty of doggy play and fun whenever needed. Russ’ main hobby is photography so you’re guaranteed to be kept up-to-date with pictures of your dog whilst you are away. Highly reccomended popular carers.

Robert & Rita

Suffolk

Robert and Rita offer 5* Dog Holidays in their fabulous home. The gardens (approximately ¾ acre) are complete paradise for dogs, with loads of wonderful aromas emanating from adjoining fields, the views go on forever! The gardens are completely secure and safe for dogs to potter in for hours and hours. Robert and Rita share their lovely Barn conversion home with their two Cypriot rescues Alfie and Lexie who are adorably welcoming, they are quite young still but get the lay of the land when guests come to stay, which they love and also share their ramblings…This is a very very happy home, and any dog lucky enough to visit will have a great holiday. Ian and Karen look forward to welcoming you and your dog to their cosy and friendly North Yorkshire home. With fields, woodland and a canal towpath on their doorstep this lovely residence makes an adventurous playground for any active hound. With his love of gardening, Ian spends a lot of time out in the garden, so outdoor activities are not restricted to walkies only. But if it all gets too much and relaxation is the order of the hour then your pooch can always watch the horticultural proceedings from the comfort of the conservatory. When the busy day is done a comfy sitting room awaits and if asked nicely Ian and Karen happily welcome furry company on the sofa. This couple have a wealth of experience with numerous dog breeds and are passionate about providing their guests with a holiday to remember.

Gaynor and Ron

East Yorkshire

Gaynor, Ron and their chocolate Labrador, Libby are keen to welcome you to their lovely, spacious home which is all about the dog. Libby is an avid fan of company to share in her good fortune. The trio cuts a familiar figure traversing the public footpaths and walkways of the surrounding countryside and all are popular members of the local dog walking community. When not out and active, your pooch will enjoy the company of two doggy devotees in the relaxing environment of a cosy kitchen-side snug with log burner and views of the beautiful, secure garden. In addition to the generous, lawned garden space, the unbolting of a side gate reveals a surprise strip of shrub land and trees for toileting, sniffing and general eager rummaging. Gaynor is a very experienced dog owner and has completed a number of courses since being a carer with Holidays4Dogs, including a CPD accredited Dog First Aid course. Very highly reccomended if you can find availability  we’re not sure your dog will want to leave!

Jacqui

Malvern

Your dog is in for a treat holiday with Jacqui and Ken! Their home is a gorgeous substantial property in acres of rolling countryside with enclosed gardens. This beautiful old farmhouse is perfect for any small to medium size guest dog. Jacqui and her husband Ken are keen walkers and love to take in the wonderful footpaths across the fields in every direction from the house. Both have lots of experience with different breeds and are happy to manage most medical conditions and prefer not to leave guest dogs unattended at any time. The house offers direct access to a sheltered sunny court-yard which leads to a safe grassy area for playtimes, exploring or just having quiet snooze. If you are lucky enough to get to meet Jacqui and Ken for your dog’s stay you will not be disapointed! Book now!

Janet

Middlesbrough

Janet is a friendly, bubbly lady who is retired from her job as a BT Manager and lives in an extremely dog-friendly 3 bedroomed detached home. The house has wooden floors throughout with a large kitchen leading onto a garden room/conservatory. The garden is of a medium size and is secure with a high fence and is part lawn and part patio. Janet is a very fit lady who enjoys walking and swimming and has a lifetime of doggy experience being brought up with Alsatians and a Labrador. She has also looked after friends’ Jack Russell Terrier, Dalmatian and Lurcher and has experience of looking after a diabetic dog which needed daily injections. Janet is looking forward to welcoming lucky guest dogs into her lovely home and for walks and games in the very large park nearby. Very popular and highly recommended.

Tracy

Devon 

Tracy lives with her Mum in a lovely house down a very quiet lane on the edge of a seaside town in beautiful Devon. Tracy is home based so she has plenty of time to dedicate to her guest dogs, providing the attention that they deserve. Tracy has a good sized garden which is very secure, made so by 6ft panel fencing. Tracy has had many years of experience with looking after dogs and is especially interested in dog behaviour. She will happily look after dogs of any size and age. There are plenty of walks close by, however if owners allow, she will take her guests further afield for a change of location. Ian and Kate live in a lovely quiet village East of York with their very sociable Westiepoo Pippin. They have a beautiful fully enclosed garden were small to medium doggy guests can have a play and a potter, there are great walks to offer, full roam of their lovely home plus a bed in the bedroom if required and lots of love and cuddles. All sociable  small-Medium doggy guests will are most welcome and will be very lucky to stay here.

Richard and Trish

East Yorkshire

Trish and Richard have both been dog owners all their lives and until recently. They shared their home with two grown up sons. They are genuine dog lovers with lots of experience; their previous dogs have included Cockapoos, Jack Russells and Border Terriers. When your dog stays with the family, lots of love, cuddles and attention are guaranteed. Trish and Richard’s home is a quiet, modern family home a small but fully secure garden. With some fabulous walks on the doorstep, your dog is sure of a great welcome and plenty of fresh air. Trish and Richard enjoy regular country walks and have a love for nature and wildlife, so you can be confident in the knowledge that your dog will have plenty of exercise whilst you are away. Small to medium sized sociable dogs welcome here. Since being carers with Holidays4Dogs, Trish has completed several cannie courses in Canine Behaviour and Training.

Nottinghamshire

Chris lives in the lovely historic village nestled in the Nottinghamshire countryside with his wife Maggie and their family cat who doesn’t mind the company of guest dogs. They have an established, fully enclosed garden full of places for your pooch to explore. Keen walkers Chris and Maggie have lots of local walks close by. This is a brilliant home for a doggie visitor that loves the company of other dogs and a cat – a real home from home. Chris is retired now so has lots of time to give to any visiting dog. Very Highly recommended.
